I’m reading a great book. Today Matters by John C. Maxwell is an excellent reminder that it makes no sense banging your head against the wall over yesterday’s mistakes. Maxwell argues that the real value comes from doing all you can today in order to guarantee success tomorrow. It’s a pretty common sense proposition that every now and again merits reinforcement in our psyche.
One thing I’m working very diligently on today is my parenting. For me, being the best parent I can today, will help my daughter, hopefully, be a better person tomorrow.
As I’ve often said, there’s a certain clarity that comes once we hit the middle ages. For me, it’s a clarity of purpose that enables me to let go of past mistakes, in favor of doing the best I can today to make a better tomorrow for me and my family.
