Last week, we had an event at the office to commemorate the raising of the last beam on a new piece of infrastructure. As part of the festivities, we brought out some markers and invited folks to sign the beam before it was hoisted and attached to the rest of the structure. I took the opportunity to sign my daughter’s name to the girder.
Of course this girder will be covered with insulation, concrete, dry wall and whatever else, but at least she and I will always know that her name is immortalized within the guts of the new ATL international terminal.
Corny? You may think so, but I look upon it as something my daughter can say her daddy left behind.
